EU Launches €10 Billion AI Innovation Initiative

BRUSSELS – The European Union today unveiled a landmark €10 billion artificial intelligence initiative aimed at positioning Europe as a global leader in ethical AI development and deployment.

Key Components of the Initiative:

  • €6 billion for AI research and development across EU universities and tech hubs
  • €3 billion for startup funding and scale-up support
  • €1 billion for AI ethics and regulatory frameworks
  • Creation of 5 new “AI Excellence Centers” in Berlin, Paris, Helsinki, Barcelona, and Warsaw

Strategic Goals by 2030:

  1. Train 100,000 AI specialists across member states
  2. Support 1,000 AI-focused startups
  3. Develop Europe’s first sovereign AI cloud infrastructure
  4. Establish global standards for ethical AI certification
